Most Expensive Honey

Harrods, London’s luxury department store, has recently started selling what is possibly the world’s most expensive honey—in their pharmacy. Life Mel honey is being sold as a nutritional supplement for £42 (around $83) per 120g pot.

The expensive honey, which is popular with celebrities like Sienna Miller and Kylie Minogue, is made in Israel by honey bees on a specially formulated diet of herbs such as Siberian Ginseng, Echinacea and Uncaria Tomentosa. The honey includes no additives and no artificial treatments. Its rich flavor and aroma are similar to those of Mankusa honey.

As a nutritional supplement, the honey is meant to be slowly sipped by the teaspoonful, once in the morning and once at night. The honey has been subject to clinical trials to determine its ability to help protect chemotherapy patients from neutropenia, a complication that renders patients more susceptible to bacterial infection.
