Most Expensive Bike Light

If you’re looking to strap an insanely bright light on your head, look no further than Lupine Lighting System’s Betty. If you can believe a product description that seems to have been written by hyperactive chickens, the Betty is better than Lupine’s previous offering, the Edison, in every possible way. Of course, the nearly $1,200 price tag makes it the most expensive bike light in the world.

Composed of seven LED lights, the Betty burns at about 1,400 lumens. Depending on the wattage used, the light may run for over 300 hours without the need to recharge. The most expensive bike light is so bright, in fact, that it needs the wind produced by biking to prevent itself from overheating. If you’re not going fast enough, the Betty will dim in order to stay cool.

LED lights like the Betty are quickly dominating the market for bicycle lighting. Other expensive LED bike lights include Princeton Tec’s Switchback ($389) and Light & Motion’s Stella ($299).
